Add SoftMimicGen for deformable data generation - #85
Extend data generation to deformable reference objects. SoftMimicGen selects source demonstrations using nodal state and adapts end-effector trajectories through thin-plate-spline registration.
Register SoftMimicGen and expose it through the generation CLI.
Add nodal-state annotations, source-pool support, and deformable trajectory transforms.
Add shared reset-settling support and unit tests for the algorithm, transforms, data handling, and interfaces.
Stack layer 1/3: Core -> PhysX -> Newton. Environment examples are added by the dependent PRs.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added SoftMimicGen support for generating demonstrations with deformable objects, including nodal registration and source-demo selection.
Added recording and retrieval of deformable-object nodal positions.
Added configurable reset-settling steps, with idle actions during settling while other environments continue.
Documentation
Updated citation guidance to include SoftMimicGen.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
This PR adds SoftMimicGen for deformable-object data capture, source-demo selection, and pose registration. It also adds reset-settling steps to the environment loop, with completion futures for reset requests.
SoftMimicGen parameters identify deformable subtasks. Source selection supports nodal registration costs, and generation passes source and current nodes to the pose transformation hook. The package, CLI, and citation guidance include SoftMimicGen.

Reset request and policy contract autodata_interfaces/env/reset_request.py, autodata_interfaces/env/__init__.py, autodata_interfaces/tasks/generation_policy_spec.py, autodata_tests/interfaces/tasks/test_generation_policy_spec.py
EnvResetRequest carries an environment ID and completion future. GenerationPolicy adds reset_settling_steps, defaulting to zero.
The environment loop handles typed reset requests, applies idle actions during settling, and records the settled initial scene state. DataGenerator awaits each request’s completion future.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review 2b66c
Older positional integrations may need updating, and rigid datasets missing object poses now fail later in generation. These are bounded compatibility and validation risks to address or accept before merging.
