Description

Part 5/5 of a series completing the ClusterObjectSet (COS) Ready condition vocabulary. Docs only.

The ClusterObjectSet now reports a single Ready condition; the Progressing and Succeeded conditions were removed previously, and rollout completion is tracked by the status.completedAt timestamp. This brings the concept doc in line.

Changes (docs/draft/concepts/clusterobjectsets.md)

  • "report three conditions" → a single Ready condition.

  • Remove the stale ### Progressing and ### Succeeded sections; add a ### Completion (status.completedAt) section.

  • Remove the fictional Migrated Ready reason row (no such reason is emitted — the migration path only sets completedAt).

  • Replace "reports Succeeded" references in the transition/upgrade flows with "rolled out successfully (status.completedAt is set)".

    🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated lifecycle and upgrade guidance to allow archiving the previous revision after the new revision has rolled out successfully.
    • Clarified that rollout completion is recorded separately from readiness: the completion timestamp is first set when a revision becomes ready and remains unchanged if readiness is later lost.
    • Revised status documentation to describe a single Ready condition instead of Progressing, and removed descriptions of the Migrated reason and terminal Succeeded condition.

The ClusterObjectSet now reports only a Ready condition; the Progressing and
Succeeded conditions were removed and rollout completion is tracked by the
status.completedAt timestamp. Update the concept doc accordingly:

- Drop the stale Progressing and Succeeded condition sections.
- Note that completion is recorded in status.completedAt (new "Completion" section).
- Remove the Migrated Ready reason row (no such reason is emitted).
- Replace "reports Succeeded" references in the transition/upgrade flows with
"rolled out successfully (status.completedAt is set)".

Superseded by #3021, which is the same concept-doc alignment rebased directly onto main (this PR was part of a now-merged stack and its base branch couldn't be retargeted). Closing in favor of #3021.
