Description

Add optional camera picture-in-picture panels to OVXR sessions using the application's renderer and completed camera products. CameraPanelConfig pairs each product with its placement and image bound; CameraPanelConsumer presents head-locked OpenXR quads.

PiP is the first OvxrFrameConsumer. Applications inject consumers through OvxrSessionBinding.frame_consumers; FrameOutputs selects and copies/maps completed outputs without exposing native result structures. The camera consumer owns its panel helper, swapchains and spaces, retaining borrowed buffers through consumption and retirement.

Unavailable panel attachment is logged and disables panels without blocking teleoperation input. Incomplete CUDA copies retire the affected panel and recheck its exact copy stream before releasing borrowed outputs. Cleanup attempts every mailbox; an unproved completion retains unsafe resources and reports failure. Upload status codes have matching native/Python enum names.

Ubuntu release builds enable BUILD_OVXR_CAMERA_QUADS=ON and verify helper inclusion in the final repaired, license/SBOM-packaged wheels before upload. Installing a resulting wheel needs no CMake configuration. Source builders enable the same option with the required Vulkan/CUDA SDKs. The helper is loaded directly by path, not registered as an OpenXR API layer. The ovxr extra selects CUDA 13 Python bindings.

Builds on #1294. Desktop mirror implementation and its Python-module artifact checks belong to #1296.

Testing

Linux x86-64, Python 3.12, on this PR boundary without the mirror implementation:

• 369 tests passed: 136 OVXR/PiP tests and 233 teleoperation tests.
• Incrementally rebuilt native helper and C++ contract test passed, including exact-device/stream completion rechecks and persistent-failure retention.
• Regressions exercise missing Vulkan handles, missing external-memory support, native attach failure, and independent mailbox cleanup. The startup regressions fail against the prior published code.
• CI-equivalent pre-commit and clang-format 14 checks passed; documentation references passed.

The native helper and staged Python package were tested together. Release-wheel CI, arm64, new IWER/headset runs and performance qualification were not repeated for these fixes. Full local documentation rendering is blocked by the missing NVIDIA Sphinx theme.
